Memocord K60.
Such cassette recorders
produced Austrian company "Stuzzi Ges. MbH; Wien", but
on the front of my vehicle has a logo "Assmann",
apparently belonging to the German company "Assmann GmbH".
Nevertheless, on the box and cassettes is marked "Made
in Austria". Estimated start of production of these
recorders - 1965. Dimensions 145 x 78 x 28 mm. Weight
330 g. Power supply 4,5 v, three AA batteries. Cartridges used
in them, resemble today's compact cassette, but
structurally very different. Their building houses two
reels of film, but without the usual holes reel tables. Instead, with one hand in case there is
a window that opens access to the
reel and the edges of
the coils. When the cassette is inserted into the
recorder, the edges of rolls of rubber rollers
kinematics relate to them and rotate. It is clear that
the stabilization of the velocity of the belt for it.
Dimensions cassettes 100 x 52 x 10 mm, film width 3.81
mm, recording time is 2 x 25 min and 2 x 35 min. I have
the tapes MT550 (2 x 25 min), MT560 (2 x 25 min) and
MT570 (2 x 35 min) produced by "Assmann GmbH" and "Stuzzi
Ges. MbH; Wien". In the past there is a built-in tape
counter. It is designed as a circular protrusion in the
side of the case, and is equipped with an arrow and a
ruler. An original
feature of these recorders is the lack of control
buttons. More precisely, there is only one switch button
"record - play." Management is done by pressing one of
the end edges of the tape. Cassette with a container in
which it is inserted, has a certain freedom in the
horizontal plane about a central axis. When you click on
the edge of the tape is closed by spring contact
integration, and drive one of the coils is pressed
against the corresponding rubber roller.

Kinematics
fairly simple, but done very carefully, qualitatively.
The engine is connected to the rollers with a single
belt. At one of the rollers is counting on to
fine-tune the speed with strobe. Circuit collected by 4
transistors (2 x AC141B, 2 x AC142B) and 1-chip
(TAA151). Controls for volume and level of writing
separately. Beside them is the fixation of the selected
engine operating mode. The front panel is placed
microphone - speaker and two LEDs display modes. Green -
reproduction, red - the record. At the end of the body
there are two connectors (2,5 mm jack) to connect the
headset and microphone control. To access the battery
compartment must unscrew "lamb" on the side of the case
(also included is "lamb" with a strap to wear on the
hand), and remove the top cover. Designated batteries
are under the lid. Caps, metal, plastic housing. The
general impression of the apparatus is good. Quality of
recording - playback is decent, the playback volume and
microphone sensitivity enough. Distortions associated
with the unevenness of the belt is almost absent. The
positive qualities can also be attributed to the rapid
replacement cassettes. This can be done even faster than
in any modern cassette tape recorder. The device has been
bought in working order. In the complete set there was a
firm box trimmed with a leather substitute, a thong for
carrying on a hand, and 8 cartridges such as MT550,
MT560 and MT570.
